Event Horizon Game

Event Horizon is a conceptual board game. Based on the concept of the edge of a black hole, players start in the center and use an objective card to attempt to collect items at different stars and return to the event horizon. Star trails are long and require time to travel to, whereas the center is safe, but unstable, leaving players susceptible to manipulation.

The board is a unique design with some original star photography and textures used to form the background. A phrase related to stars and adventure is translated in Latin and wrapped around the board in multiple spots.

The symmetrical center area is marked with degrees, which indicate how players will move around the board when certain cards are drawn. The star trails vary in length. Items are assigned randomly and secretly to each star at the beginning of each game.

There are over two hundred different cards with around 20 unique illustrations. Every card has a different description. There are four types of cards.

Objective cards are drawn at the beginning of the game to indicate which items you are searching for.

Space cards are drawn on every round and shift the positioning of players in the center of the board who fall between certain degree marks.

Star cards are drawn when you land on a red star. They can have positive or negative effects, some of which are powerful, such as the ability to look at what item is on a particular star.

Item cards are assigned to each star and are needed to win the game.

The game folds and fits with the other pieces into a box.
